Netflix! Amazon Prime! Hulu Plus! HBO Now! Many more options exist that are around $10/month and allow you to watch whatever you want at that moment. Can’t wait for the next season of Real Housewives to come on? Tough. It’s terrible anyway.
You could get a few people together and have one household subscribe to Netflix, one to Hulu, another to HBO, then share the passwords. Just check their rules to make sure this is allowed first since some services may not be ok with it.
Estimated savings based on a standard cable bill of around $60/month is about $600/year. I know many people spend more like $120/month, so you have that.
One advantage of Amazon Prime is that they have that free 2 day shipping on most items (things you need to buy), free streaming music app, and if you have a Kindle you can “borrow many books for free, one at a time.
Seriously though, there are so many full seasons of other shows on these “channels” to choose from that it really shouldn’t be a problem. If it is, maybe you still have to work on that list of what’s important to you and think about what you want your life to be like.
